The latest Senate deal to reopen the government and raise the debt ceiling includes back pay for furloughed federal workers.

Multiple congressional aides told the Washington Post that back pay would be part of the deal, and a Senate source confirmed the report to TPM.

The House passed a bill that would have guaranteed back pay for federal workers earlier in October, but the measure failed to pass in the Senate.

Sahil Kapur contributed reporting.
