One of Mitt Romney’s latest salvos against Newt Gingrich has focused on his time working for the mortgage giant Freddie Mac. Gingrich famously insisted he was a “historian” for the company, while Romney has openly alleged that he was – in practice if not in name – a lobbyist and an “influence peddler.” The Newt camp must have hoped releasing the contracts would put this debate to bed. If so, then they were mistaken. This morning the Romney camp sent out an email saying that the now-public document “raises more questions than answers.” You can read that here.
