Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry had a weird message on Thursday for fellow Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who said Perry’s campaign is crashing: “A broken clock is right once a day.”

Perry was on Fox News after Trump said during an news conference that the former governor was getting out of the GOP race.

Perry began by misusing a cliche.

“A broken clock is right once a day,” Perry said.

He went on to say he was not dropping out of the race.

Perry, who has run out of money to pay staffers, attempted to pivot to his border security talking points.

“It’s a long time until this election is over,” Perry said, adding he was “proud” of the campaign volunteers in early primary and caucus states.

But when the Fox News anchor returned to questions about Trump, Perry started talking over her: “It’s your responsibly to ask and those in the media to ask those questions (of Trump).”
