Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has a major lead in the early Nevada caucus returns, according reports from a veteran political writer in the state with the Las Vegas Sun. “Mitt Romney has a large early lead in the Nevada GOP caucuses with 62 percent of the vote, according to Sun columnist Jon Ralston, who cited sources with knowledge of count,” the paper reported. “Romney leads with 15 percent of the vote tallied. Battling for a distant second place are Newt Gingrich, with 16 percent; Ron Paul with 15 percent and Rick Santorum 7 percent. At various Republican presidential caucus sites throughout Clark County, turnout was mixed but most people appeared to support Romney.”
