Microsoft has entered into an agreement to purchase the business-oriented social network and messaging service Yammer for over $1 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported late Thursday. The news comes after days of rumors of an acquisiton. Neither Microsoft nor Yammer have confirmed the deal, yet. Some tech bloggers speculate that Microsoft will be using Yammer to build out its own private text messaging service on Windows Phones and tablets.
