In a speech that concluded with raucous chants of “President Paul!” from the crowd, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) on Friday delivered multiple applause lines during his address to the Conservative Political Action Conference.
“As a doctor, I will take it and make it my mission to heal the nation, reverse the course of Obamacare, and repeal every last bit of it,” the ophthalmologist said to cheers.
Paul accused Obama of lying to Americans over the passage and implementation of the healthcare law. But he saved most of his personal swipes for former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“Her dereliction of duty should forever preclude her from our office,” Paul told the crowd, adding that “Hillary’s war in Libya” has made the U.S. less safe.
“It’s time for Hillary Clinton to permanently retire,” he said to big applause.
The self-described “pro-liberty” Republican continued to rail against the IRS, runaway spending, and an unbalanced budget.
“But above all, it’s time for a new President,” he said. Chants of “President Paul” began to reverberate through the hall as the senator smiled.
Correction: This article originally identified Paul as a senator from Texas. It has been updated to show he represents Kentucky.
Kentucky!
I really can’t wait for this little troll to get his ass handed to him. Whether it’s HRC that does the ass-handing or it’s someone else in the primary, he’s going to have a meltdown so grand toddlers will stand back, mouth agape and slow clap in awe of the sheer magnitude of the tantrum.
Manure!
Yeah, well…you’d better start practicing saying “Madam President,” bub.
