Scientists have decided to name a new species of praying mantis, Ilomantis ginsburgae, after Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday.

Scientists discovered the species with a new technique that uses a female specimen’s genitals to formally distinguish it from other species, the Post reported.

The new mantis was named in honor of Ginsburg’s achievements in gender equality and for the ruffly neck piece she wears, or jabot. Scientists believed the the new mantis species’ neck plate resembled Ginsburg’s jabot.

Ginsburg joins a list of other politicians who have had insects named after them, including President Obama, who has a spider in his name; Al Gore, who also has a praying mantis named after him; and Abraham Lincoln, who has a wasp in his name.
