Only 32 percent of California residents polled support repealing the death penalty in the state, according to a new poll from SurveyUSA released Thursday. Forty-eight percent of the 539 polled oppose Prop 34, the repeal proposal. The poll had a margin of error of 4.3 percent.
The PollTracker average shows support for repealing the death penalty in California well behind, with 34.3 percent supporting and 48.7 opposing.
