A man walked into the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission offices in Salem, Ore., on Wednesday, holding a pressure cooker he claimed was a bomb and told employees that he tried to blow up their entrance sign because it was misspelled, the Statesman Journal reports. The ‘d’ in ‘And’ was missing, rendering it the “Teacher Standards an Practices Commission.”

Leonard Burdek, 50, said the pressure cooker had failed to detonate. He complained that the instructions he downloaded to make the bomb also had misspellings, the paper reports:

He implied that Chamberlain and her employees should be concerned about the level of education children receive given that the instructions were rife with errors.

The commission’s office is where people come to fill out their applications for a teacher’s license.

Lt. Dave Okada, a spokesman for the Salem Police Department, said Burdek’s pressure cooker was not a bomb, according to the paper. Burdek was charged with disorderly conduct.

“It looks like he was just trying to get attention,” Okada said.
