Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is projected to win in Oklahoma, in a major victory over Donald Trump. Cruz’s Oklahoma win Tuesday was called by the networks a little after 9 p.m. EST, a bit more than an hour after polls closed.

Going into Super Tuesday, Trump was leading Cruz, as well Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL). Both were stuck at an average of 20 percent each while Trump was polling at 34 percent, according the TPM PollTracker Average.

Trump held a number of rallies in the state. However, Cruz and Rubio also made appearances in recent days in the hopes of tightening up the race. Because of the relative diversity of the GOP electorate in Oklahoma, the state was believed to be competitive for all three candidates, with Cruz courting religious voters and Rubio hoping to appeal to urban Republicans in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
