President Barack Obama is expected to deliver remarks at a service for the late Nelson Mandela on Tuesday, the White House said.
Deputy National Security Advisor Ben Rhodes told reporters aboard Air Force One that Obama did not have remarks prepared before Mandela’s passing, but worked on his speech over the weekend and would likely continue to work on the plane. Obama would “reflect on what Nelson Mandela meant to the people of South Africa, to him personally as well,” Rhodes said.
