President Obama was notified of the explosions at the Boston Marathon Monday afternoon and instructed his administration to provide all necessary assistance, according to a White House pool report.
“His administration is in contact with state and local authorities,” a White House official said. “He directed his administration to provide whatever assistance is necessary in the investigation and response.”
