President Barack Obama on Thursday is expected to meet with former Newark, N.J. Mayor Cory Booker (D), the senator-elect from New Jersey, the White House said. 

The president is scheduled to meet with Booker at 3:15 p.m. ET in the Oval Office. Booker will be sworn in by Vice President Joe Biden earlier in the day.

Obama is also scheduled to deliver remarks at 1:30 p.m. ET at the SelectUSA Investment Summit, where he will “will discuss the importance of taking measures to grow the economy, encouraging the businesses and investors from around the world in attendance to bring new investment and jobs to the U.S.,” according to the White House.

Correction: This post has been updated to reflect that Cory Booker submitted his resignation as mayor of Newark, N.J. on Wednesday.
