News Corporation announced on Monday that Dow Jones editor in chief and Wall Street Journal managing editor Robert Thomson will become the chief executive of the company’s new publishing division. News Corp. chief Rupert Murdoch will remain the CEO of the company’s entertainment division, which will be called Fox Group.
Murdoch said in a company release:
“This is an incredibly exciting time, for me personally, and for our companies’ ambitious futures. The challenges we face in the publishing and media industries are great, but the opportunities are greater.”
