At a time when the Republican establishment is rallying to thwart attacks from Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry, Mitt Romney’s campaign is now defending his tenure at Bain Capital with a new television ad that will begin airing in South Carolina today.
The spot, titled “Bright Future,” claims Romney created “thousands of jobs” while at the helm of the private equity firm and cites a Wall Street Journal editorial that called the intense criticism coming from Gingrich and Perry “embarrassing.”
“We expected the Obama Administration to put free markets on trial,” the female narrator says.
