NBC News has projected Rick Santorum as the winner of the Alabama primary.
With 27 percent of precincts reporting in Alabama, Santorum has 35%, Gingrich 30%, Romney 28%, and Paul 5%.
The result is still too close to call in Mississippi, with Santorum currently at first in what is a genuine three-way race.
