Jon Stewart’s inaugural edition of his “Summertime Sunny Time Slip n’ Slide” segment, covering a breezy seasonal story, went awry fairly quickly on Monday.
The host of “The Daily Show” happened to pick for his first story a pool party in Texas that made headlines this week after a police officer drew his gun and slammed a black teenaged girl to the ground while responding to a complaint.
“How do you go from a pool party to this?” Stewart asked, above the chyron, “Assault Swim.”
“When I say Marco, you say polo, motherfucker!” he bellowed, imagining a gun in his hand. “Marco! Marco!”

How I will miss John Stewart when he’s not around on TV every week. I wish he would wait until AFTER the Republicans lose the presidential election next year.
I really just feel a large number of the people drawn toward police work are looking for legal ways to beat the shit out of folks they consider needing of beating. And for a lot of them that are white they automatically assume black folks need beating even more.
This guy is hilarious. Please make him change his mind and stay another year or two at least.
