It’s been a rough stretch for FiveThirtyEight editor-in-chief Nate Silver since the launch of the new site earlier this month.
The site has drawn several negative reviews — most notably from New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, with whom Silver has since found himself in a bitter public feud.
And Democrats, who clung to Silver’s forecasts like a security blanket during the 2012 election, turned on the stats guru after he gave Republicans about a 60 percent chance of winning control of the Senate this year.
It all gave Jon Stewart plenty to talk about it when he welcomed Silver on “The Daily Show” last night.
“You are taking a rash of shit in a week and a half like no one I’ve seen in a long time,” Stewart told the embattled Silver.
