Stewart Is ‘Shocked’ By These Stories Of Discrimination Against Muslims (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart began Wednesday’s episode of “The Daily Show” with the grim business of reviewing cases of discrimination against Muslim Americans.

“We know Americans’ long struggle with the whole ‘all men are created equal’ thing,” he began.

He ran a few news reports showing Muslims continue to be subject to the “equal people-test,” including a woman who fought a lawsuit in order to work at Abecrombie & Fitch, which denied her a job for wearing a hijab.

“I am proud to say that she can now — work at Abecrombie & Fitch,” Stewart said with a sigh. “She has won the right to spend eight hours a day in a cloud of cologne selling pink polo shirts to guys named Chad.”

In another case, another Muslim woman said she was told by a flight attendant that she could not have a closed can of soda on-flight because she might use it as a weapon.

The woman said a fellow passenger then identified her as a Muslim and told her to “shut the ‘f’ up.”

“That is — I am shocked,” Stewart said, appearing mortified, “by what goes on in coach.”
