Vice President Joe Biden joked on Tuesday night during a reception at the Naval Observatory that he would understand if someone didn’t want to have a photo taken with him.
“I’m going to be in that room if anybody wants a photograph,” Biden at the Black History Month reception, a video of which was posted on Wednesday by Politico. “I would not blame you if you didn’t.”
The crowd laughed at Biden’s joke.
The vice president has found himself in a number of awkward photo ops during his time in office. Most recently, he was spotted rubbing the shoulders and whispering in the ear of Defense Secretary Ashton Carter’s wife during the secretary’s swearing-in ceremony.

I love Joe … I would be proud just to meet him, let alone have a picture taken with him.
Me too. He’s such a down to earth guy. What you see is what you get - a guy comfortable in his own skin. Obama made an excellent choice.
Samantha Bee, too, said last night on the Daily Show she had no reservations about running into him… And she had physical evidence of their encounter on her clothing.
Why does TPM keep pimping this meme about Biden?
Third! I think it speaks volumes about Biden’s character that he can joke about the poor treatment he receives at the hands of the media. (yes, TPM included)
