Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) endorsed Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) for president during a Friday night appearance on Fox’s “On The Record With Greta Van Susteren.”
According to Jindal, his formal rival in the 2016 race is “best positioned” to win in the general election and to guide the United States through what he called “dangerous times.” The Louisiana governor applauded Rubio’s hawkish foreign policy and “optimistic” message.
The Rubio campaign welcomed Jindal’s endorsement, praising him on Twitter as “one of the smartest people in American politics.”
.@BobbyJindal is one of the smartest people in American politics. We’re incredibly excited to have him on the team.
