Contrary to earlier reports, authorities said Thursday that the suspect in the Kalamazoo, Michigan shootings is not suing Uber for “ruining his life,” according to the Los Angeles Times.

Early Thursday, reports swirled that Jason Dalton, a former Uber driver who is accused of fatally shooting six people and wounding two others between picking up passengers for the ride-sharing company on Feb. 20, had filed a handwritten complaint in U.S. District Court in Detroit.

But Kalamazoo County Undersheriff Paul Matyas told the LA Times that Dalton denied filing the lawsuit and that the handwriting does not match Dalton’s. Matyas said he was also suspicious because the lawsuit was postmarked from Philadelphia.

The 1½-page lawsuit initially thought to be written by Dalton outlined complaints about Uber and blamed the company for his time in prison. The lawsuit sought $10 million, according to the Associated Press.

“I busted my butt for them,” the lawsuit read, as quoted by the AP. “They gave me no Christmas bonus, I wasn’t invited to any corporate parties, they made me work when I was sick and didn’t let me spend time with my two children. My life is ruined because of Uber. My wife is divorcing me because of Uber.”
