Tensions remained high on Friday night in Ferguson, Mo. as hundreds of protestors clashed with police, following relative calm the previous night.
The renewed unrest came after authorities made two major
revelations earlier in the day. One was the name of the white police
officer, Darren Wilson, who shot and killed a black, unarmed teen in the
town on Aug. 9. The other was that the teen, Michael Brown, was
purportedly a suspect in convenience store robbery a short time before
he was killed.
The same convenience store was looted on Friday night. Meanwhile, peaceful protests also took place in Ferguson, as did more heated clashes.

Note to thieves, looters:
If you feel the need to be such lowlife assholes, loot and steal in the white communities. Looting and burning stores in your own community is stupid and hurts your law abiding neighbors when business don’t reopen and they can no longer walk to buy a few things. If every time a black is gunned down without justification, a nearby white community’s stores were looted and burned… it might put additional pressure on the police to restrain themselves.
I’m encouraged that young black children are being taught to put their hands up. Not that it will help in most cases…but it could. Let’s hope.
Absolutely. This crowd needs to start moving towards downtown St Louis, especially since there’s a curfew in their neighborhood. Start burning down some places that white people go to…TGIF, Fuddruckers, Bed Bath and Beyonds.
You think it’s wise to bring a 3 year old out in a tension filled environment like that? I am all against police brutality and especially militarizing local police who are buying surplus used in the Afghan and Iraq wars. But some of these people demonstrating are just using it as an excuse to loot and cause trouble in Ferguson.
They face a 40% unemployment rate, they need jobs.
