House Leadership Staffs ‘Sheltering In Place’ After Reports Of Gunfire

Early word from House leadership aides is that their offices inside the U.S. Capitol are locked down, but all are safe.

“We’re fine, thank you,” a House Republican aide told TPM. “Currently ‘sheltering in place.’”

“All safe,” a House Democratic aide said. “No idea.”

“Yes, we’re ok,” a second House Democratic aide. “Don’t know, trying to find out.”

A third House Democratic aide told TPM that they believed the shooting had occurred on the south side of the Capitol.
