Google on Tuesday announced that it had begun rolling out a new version of its “compose email” feature in Gmail that opens a new email in a smaller, chat-like pop-up box within the current inbox view, allowing users to easily access previous emails. Gmail previously opened up new email compositions in a full-screen view, though users could pop them out in a separate window by clicking a button in the upper right hand corner. Here’s a screenshot of the new feature Google posted on its official company blog Tuesday:
