On Fox News, Newt Gingrich argued that Romney’s gaffe Monday when he said “I like being able to fire people” is significant of why Newt is a better candidate. He admits that Romney’s comment has been taken out of context, but, as Huntsman’s campaign argued yesterday, the incident showed that Romney is a gaffe-prone politician who couldn’t stand up to Barack Obama in a debate:

“I think I can debate better than he can. I think I’m more careful in that kind of example. Imagine if he had said that in a debate with Barack Obama, what a mess that would have been.”
