Longtime RedState editor Erick Erickson plans to step down soon from the conservative website, according to a report Sunday from the Atlanta Journal Constitution newspaper.

The paper reported the news from the website’s annual RedState Gathering in Atlanta.

RedState.com was purchased 18 months ago by Salem Communications Corp., a competing radio group. Erickson has edited the site since 2005.

Erickson was asked Monday by the Washington Free Beacon about the report, and declined to confirm it.

“In four days I’m hosting ten presidential candidates in Atlanta for the RedState Gathering,” he told the Free Beacon. “This week is all I’m focused on.”

TPM is such a tease. I was hoping he was leaving Earth. With a bullet. Or a noose. I’m not picky.

  3. OMG, will there be another white editor of RedState because of Obama???

  4. Damn it ! – He figured in to my hoarding of popcorn – I hope it all doesn’t go to waist now —
