Donald Trump promised a “major announcement” during a campaign event at his new D.C. hotel on Friday morning after being dogged in recent days by questions about whether he stands by questioning President Obama’s birthplace.
In recent interviews, Trump has pointedly sidestepped questions on whether he now believes Obama is American born. When Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo pressed Trump to clarify his views, the GOP nominee encouraged her to pay attention to his remarks this morning, saying, “We have to keep the suspense going.”
