Donald Trump caught heat this week for crudely imitating an Asian negotiator while on the campaign trail. But apparently it’s a longtime act.

Calling into “Morning Joe” in 2010, Trump also used broken English to mock working with Asian as well as Middle Eastern businesspeople.

“They’ll say, ‘Donald, Donald, we cannot believe what we are getting away with. Your people are stupid that are leading your country,'” he said of the Chinese businesspeople he meets with.

He turned the conversation to the “Sheikhs of Kuwait.”

“The go, ‘No no no, we do not like the potential of the United States. We do not like investing in the United States,'” Trump said.

The bit prompts clear discomfort among his hosts. Joe Scarborough even warned him, “Just political advice, I’d just leave the accents to others.”
