“The Daily Show” asked Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Wednesday night’s episode to justify why he’s suddenly supporting Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) because as host Trevor Noah said, “It’s safe to say, you are/were/are not a fan of Ted Cruz.”

“I’m on the Ted Train, absolutely,” Graham said.

Graham’s explanation still didn’t turn into a glowing endorsement. When asked about his support of Cruz, Graham said that his change of heart “tells you everything you need to know about Donald Trump.”

Graham, who was once in the presidential race himself, endorsed Cruz ahead of the AIPAC conference in Washington last week.

“He was my fifteenth choice so what can I say?” Graham added.

And everything came back to Donald Trump.

What do you like about Cruz, Noah asked the senior senator. “He’s not Trump,” Graham replied.

“He’s not completely crazy,” Graham said of his colleague, adding “that works in Washington.”

Noah also challenged Graham to a game of billiards. The wagers? Complimenting Trump.

  1. This is the clip they decided to go with? I saw last nights episode & the first segment was devastating to the Republican party. Trevor tied republicans to trump with a knot so strong you’d need a hacksaw to undo it. His best segment since he took over the show, at least in my opinion.

  2. That was actually a pretty astounding series of statements by Graham. He knows his party is f*cked, but he’ll still have a job next year.

  3. Wow. Sen. Graham in rare form.

  4. Dancing in the horse stall as the barn burns.
