Former Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski on Friday resigned from CNN, where he had been a commentator, according to CNN.

Lewandowski’s stint on CNN was controversial, since he was still being paid severance from the Trump campaign for at least some of his tenure at the news network and because he was still in touch with the Trump campaign.

The New York Times reported that Lewandowski is interested in a role in the Trump administration, citing “a person briefed on discussions within the Trump transition team.” The Times and CNN both reported that Lewandowski had been spotted at Trump Tower this week.
