Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice at Duke University on Tuesday said the U.S. needs to return to the mindset that America is a place of free markets and free people, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.
“That immigrant culture that has renewed us … has been at the core of our strength,” she said. “I don’t know when immigrants became the enemy.”
