The 35-year-old son of famed Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy was arrested this week for suspected parole violations, federal officials told the Los Angeles Times.

On Wednesday, Cliven Lance Bundy was held at the Clark County jail awaiting a court appearance, the Associated Press reported. Bundy was arrested on Sunday by a ranger checking permits at a lake on federal land, according to a statement from the Bureau of Land Management.

His father, known for his armed standoff in April with the Bureau of Land Management over a dispute about cattle grazing fees, spoke to the LA Times about his son.

“I knew he had a warrant and when I saw him at Christmastime I asked him if he was taking care of it and he told me he had a lawyer,” Bundy told the LA Times.

“This is aimed at all the Bundys,” he continued. “Anything that goes on with my family goes out on headlines as a bad mark on our family name. The feds see to that. … He is my son and I care and worry about him. … We have tried to help him. I want to see him get his life in order and get back to being a family man.”

In September, a warrant was issued for the Bundy son for failing to appear in a Nevada drug court. In August, he was arrested for violating his probation and at the time of his arrest had outstanding warrants for contempt of court.
