Hillary Clinton on Monday said she planned to “take stock” of her campaign after the New Hampshire primary, but denied any major impending staffing changes after Politico reported on a possible shakeup.
“I have no idea what they’re talking about or who they are talking to,” Clinton told MSNBC host Rachel Maddow. “We’re going to take stock but it’s going to be the campaign that I’ve got. I’m very confident in the people that I have. I’m very committed to them; they’re committed to doing the best we can.”
The report, based on interviews with six anonymous Clinton associates, alleged that the Democratic presidential candidate was considering staffing changes after a narrow win in the Iowa caucuses and amid underwhelming poll numbers ahead of Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary. Though Clinton expressed confidence in her current staff, she suggested that the campaign planned to reassess its strategy as the race moved forward.
“We’re going to take stock, what works, what doesn’t work,” she told Maddow. “We’re moving into a different phase of the campaign. We’re moving into a more diverse electorate. We’re moving into different geographic areas. So, of course it would be malpractice not to say, ‘OK, what worked? What can we do better?’”
Clinton’s full interview with Maddow will air Monday at 9 p.m. on MSNBC.
