Mississippi political blogger “Constitutional Clayton” Kelly is now facing an additional felony charge for photographing the wife of Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) without her consent.
The new charge on Kelly was added on Wednesday, Madison District Attorney Michael Guest said, according to the Clarion-Ledger.
“It is a felony offense that carries a five year sentence, ” Guest said, according to the Mississippi newspaper. “It deals with photographing or filming someone, without their permission, in a place where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy.”
Kelly also faces a felony charge of exploitation of a vulnerable adult. Kelly was arrested Friday for going to St. Catherine’s nursing home in Madison, Mississippi and allegedly photographing Sen. Cochran’s bedridden wife, who suffers from dementia.
Kelly has been a supporter of state Sen. Chris McDaniel (R-MS), Cochran’s tea party primary challenger.
