The New Jersey legislative committee investigating the George Washington Bridge lane closures plans to meet Tuesday to hear testimony from Christina Genovese Renna, a former aide to Gov. Chris Christie (R).

Renna, who worked in the governor’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, worked for Bridget Kelly, the former Christie aide who has been blamed for planning the lane closures. As NJ.com noted Tuesday, Renna is not considered a key player in the scandal, but she did tell lawyers investigating the matter for the governor’s office that Christie’s staff was very aware of which mayors were friends of the administration. It is widely suspected that the lane closures were done to hurt Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich, a Democrat who did not endorse Christie’s re-election last year.
