Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York, on Sunday said he is incredibly grateful for the impact Pope Francis has had on the public view of the Catholic Church.

“I thank God for it,” he said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” when asked about the Pope Francis effect, adding that people are constantly thanking him for voting for the new Pope. “I can’t walk down the streets of New York, which I do a lot, without people stopping me.”

He called the Pope’s style a much needed “change of tone.”
