Two-term Idaho Gov. Butch Otter narrowly defeated state Sen. Russ Fulcher in Tuesday’s GOP primary, according to the Associated Press.

The Idaho primary made waves last week when two long-shot gubernatorial candidates’ remarks at a debate garnered national attention. Fulcher later accused Otter of demanding that the fringe candidates participate in the debate in order to divert attention from Fulcher and from his own record as governor.
