Vice President Joe Biden emphasized that there is a “moral obligation” to address gun violence after the mass shooting in Newtown, Conn., during remarks at a news conference announcing a package of proposals to address the problem Wednesday.
“We have a moral obligation — a moral obligation — to do everything in our power to diminish the prospect that something like this could happen again,” Biden said.
“I have never seen the nation’s conscience so shaken by what happened at Sandy Hook. The world has changed and it’s demanding action.”
