A 3-year-old boy in Atlanta shot himself in the face on Thursday night in what police believe was an accident.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that Atlanta police officer John Chafee said early evidence indicated the toddler was playing with a handgun when he accidentally shot himself in the face.
The 3-year-old was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to police.
The newspaper spoke with a neighbor, Ivey McMullen, who said she “heard people screaming that ‘the baby shot himself.'”
