A man accidentally shot himself in the leg while playing with his handgun outside a party store in Flint, Mich. on Saturday, Michigan Live reported Monday.

The man was waiting for friends in a car in the parking lot near the store when he pulled out his Glock 21 .45-caliber handgun. The bullet went through his left thigh and calf, according to the police report.

The man was taken to the hospital for surgery by one of his friends, police told Michigan Live.
