Special Counsel Jack Smith speaks to the press at the US Department of Justice in Washington, DC, on June 9, 2023, announcing the unsealing of the indictment against former US President Donald Trump. Trump was indicted Friday on 37 counts in the Mar-a-Lago documents case after he illegally kept top secret files on US nuclear and weapons programs and defense plans after leaving the White House. "The unauthorized disclosure of these classified documents could put at risk the national security of the United States," the Justice Department said. 1. Sheesh, him again? I’ll believe it when DOJ tells me.

  2. The day of glory has arrived!

I need to go chill some champagne.

  3. Here we go…

This had to happen, Trump willfully flouted the laws around handling documents, and people who have done that in the past went to jail. The rule of law would be thrown out the window if the DoJ let Trump get away with it, they really had no choice but to bring an indictment.

Now, we see what the consequences are. This could cause his followers to flip out and start a campaign of violence, they really have been groomed to see this as a reason to start the revolution. Or, they may continue to fulminate and take no action, waiting to see what the case is and how it goes down. Trump will now run hard in the hopes of winning and pardoning himself…this case will likely be going on through campaign season. The other Republican candidates are now hoping that this finally takes Trump out, but it won’t…his base will see this as even more reason to stand behind him and fight.

The biggest question really is if justice will be served, or if this just going to be another culture war battle. We will just have to wait and see what happens, and hope that justice prevails.

  4. He said, “I AM AN INNOCENT MAN!”

He meant, “I AM AN INNOCENT MAN, SUCKER!”

Can there be any suckers left?
