Tensions continue to run high as Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden narrowed President Donald Trump’s lead in Georgia and Pennsylvania as outstanding absentee ballots in both states continue to be counted.
The Trump campaign and the President’s allies have intensified efforts to sow doubt around the legitimacy of the election results, mounting a number of legal battles in an effort to stop votes from being counted after baselessly accusing Democrats of stealing the election. After filing lawsuits in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Nevada and Michigan, the Trump campaign launched a new court fight in Georgia on Wednesday evening demanding that all counties separate “late-arriving ballots” from the ballots that arrived before the state’s 7 p.m. deadline.
Further west, as more ballots were tabulated in Arizona, Trump supporters — some armed — swarmed a facility in Maricopa County, mounting their support for President Trump as the Democratic candidate’s lead shrank in the state after early projections by a number of news organizations that the newly battleground state would be won by Biden.
