  1. Getting tons of kids sick is a great way to win back the suburbs. Sheer political genius, these guys.

  2. And DeSantis, who denies knowing that extra ventilators have been shipped to his state, had this to say, “I’m personally in contact with CEOs of a lot of the major hospitals…”

Right. Because talking to CEOs is SO much better than talking with actual citizens and staff and emergency responders.

    This is rock-solid stupid thinking.

  3. COVID cases in FL and TX can have a spillover effect in surrounding states and the nation as a whole. But in the main it will be residents of those sates that suffer the consequences of the inaction by their Governors DeSantis and Abbott. And those citizens did freely elect them to those offices, no? And they will likely reelect them.

  4. Here in Kansas Governor Kelly has recommended that all students and teachers wear masks, while some of the Kansas City school districts have mandated it. I expect the already rising number of cases to skyrocket as most people here don’t wear masks.

I’d always referred to the schools (worked there) as virus factories long before covid came along.
