Rick Perry’s campaign is out with a new television ad playing up the Texas governor’s job-creation record.

The 30-second spot, which debuted Wednesday on Iowa TV and cable stations and runs through the end of the month, is Perry’s first commercial ad buy and has the candidate promising to create 2.5 million jobs.

“I know something about that,” the Texas governor says while looking into the camera.

The Texas governor also pledges to expand domestic energy production in an effort to “reduce our reliance on oil from foreign countries that hate America.”

Perry’s media buy cost him $175,000, reports ABC News. That’s pocket change for a candidate with over $15 million in his campaign warchest as of Sept. 30. Expect more to come as Perry struggles to revive his flagging campaign.
