Jon Stewart on Monday checked in with the Republican presidential candidates and their 3,000th debate over the weekend — a broadcast CBS actually cut short so it could air a rerun of NCIS.
The topic was foreign policy, and all the candidates seemed to agree on one point, Stewart said: “America needs to start kicking the world’s ass and taking some funny-sounding names.”
That’s right! Mitt Romney said China needs to start playing by international rules. Rick Perry called for zero foreign aid to other countries. Newt Gingrich said wars are about killing the enemy. But then a funny thing happened, Stewart said, Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum actually … kind of … started to make sense.
