The big talking point of the day was the meeting between President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with attention focused on whether they can accomplish much given their frosty relationship.

Netanyahu allayed fears of any differences with a comparison that seemed downright Rick Santorum-esque.

Santorum, of course, is still having his own troubles, being part of a GOP primary campaign that has not only dampened enthusiasm toward the candidates, but the Republican Party itself.

Rounding out the day’s events were two longtime veterans of the political scene — John McCain and Vladimir Putin. McCain said airstrikes are necessary to bring peace to Syria, and Putin was seen shedding a tear after he won re-election.
