Yup, #NeverTrump Is an Epic Fraud

I wrote last night that the already trembly #NeverTrump ‘movement’ would soon collapse under the weight of its own ridiculousness. And that is even more clear this afternoon. Mitt Romney appears to be the only actual member of the #NeverTrump ‘movement’. Small movement. Sad!

We were just watching Romney’s Fox interview with Neal Cavuto a few moments ago. And while he dodged and weaved on a number of issues – most notably whether he would agree to serve as a unity nominee in a contested GOP convention – he was clear on the essential point: he said he will never vote for or support Donald Trump. Never. He won’t vote for Hillary. But he’ll either write-in another candidate’s name or vote for a conservative third party candidate.

Meanwhile, Marco Rubio, putative leader of the #NeverTrump ‘movement’, says it actually only applies to the primaries. In other words, by Marco Rubio’s definition, being #NeverTrump is actually indistinguishable from simply running against Trump in the primaries.

‘Collapse under the weight of its own ridiculousness’ isn’t just an arch turn of phrase. This #NeverTrump nonsense will never be convincing if the entire Republican party is saying Trump is a danger to country and party and that the GOP faces an historic turning point while they also agree to support Trump if he’s nominated.

It’s all nonsense. The rot is too deep.
