Earlier this afternoon we reported that (as then thought) two gunmen had opened fire on military personnel training at Camp Shelby Joint Forces Training Center in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. No one was injured in the attack.

We are now either in the 9th or extra innings in the long, drawn-out, increasingly bizarre and mendacious fight over the global powers agreement to curb Iran’s nuclear program. Depending on which poll you look at, Americans either support the deal, are flatly opposed to the deal or have mixed opinions. It’s probably fairest to say that we don’t really know or there may in fact be no answer since it is an issue that very few people actually know the details about. So it matters greatly how you ask the question. In general, if you ask with the catch phrase, you get a negative answer. If you provide a bare explanation of what the deal includes, you get a supportive answer.
But all this is efforts to get at reality. Let’s move on to the spin.

I don’t want to cast any aspersions. But I think it’s worth asking this question. Yesterday, gunmen or a gunman (it now seems like the latter) shot up the outside of a military training facility being used in the Jade Helm 15 military exercises. There are strong circumstantial reasons to believe the attack was tied to the JH15 hysteria, though we can’t be sure. Today it happened again. And reports suggest that it was the same guy – same basic description of the suspect, etc. So we don’t know it was the same guy. But similar description of suspect and vehicle with a guy driving up and shooting from his car. How exactly does that get allowed to happen again the second day in a row? Was security raised? Were police on alert to respond to another attack? Again, there may be good answers to this. But it just seems odd to me that a guy could drive up in a pick up truck two days in a row, in the same place, and shoot at soldiers.
