Nothing If Not Consistent

There were at least some signs during the day yesterday that the NRA might not go full-bore in opposing the Manchin-Toomey background checks compromise. By last night, that had all changed.

Rand Paul and the Sweet Smell of Your Own Crap

Yesterday morning Sen. Rand Paul went over to Howard University. And it didn’t go terribly well. The account comes from a low-level Democratic Party county official named Jacob Conway who tells the NPR station that Shawn Reilly and Curtis Morrison bragged to him after the fact about having done it. (Conway also talked to Fox News a short time ago.) Reilly is a founder of Progress Kentucky and Morrison is involved in the group, too, WFPL reports.
